    Vasanth Nagar is a neighbourhood located in the central part of the city of Bangalore. It is considered as upscale locality of Bangalore, residing many retired government bureaucrats, MLA’s Guest House, Congress State Office and the French Consulate Residence. This area is surrounded by major landmarks, offices, hotels and roads and turned into a commercial hub. It is at a distance of 4 km from Majestic Bus Terminal via Red Course Road. Jayamahal, Guttahalli, Sultanghunta, Madhava Nagar, Racecourse, Seshadripuram, Palace Guttahalli, Shivaji Nagar and Bangalore Cantonment are its neighboring localities. The Bangalore Palace is situated at a 5 minutes walking distance whereas the Vidhana Soudha is just 2 km away from here and is at a distance of 4 km from Majestic. This locality is bordered by Bangalore Golf Club, Palace Grounds, Shivaji Nagar and Bangalore Cantonment. Improved connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport, presence of employment hubs such as Gadget IT Park, International Tech Park, EGL, Harita IT Park and connectivity to the other parts of the city contributed towards the growth of Vasanth Nagar.

    Vasanth Nagar is well connected to all areas of Bengaluru. Three arterial roads of Vasanth Nagar-Queen’s Road, Dr Ambedkar Road and the MG Road connect it to different parts of the city.

    The Bangalore East and Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station are the closest from here, a drive of around 8 minutes while the Bangalore City Railway Station is 4.3 kilometres drive away making things easier for frequent travellers.

    This locality enjoys excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport (32.3 km) that can be reached in 55 min via Bellary Road.

    Major issues

    The route till the metro station from this neighbourhood is not exactly pedestrian-friendly. And, autos give commuters a hard time by either refusing to ply on that route, or asking for double rate. And people who have their offices in nearby IT park, have to wait for 30-40 minutes in peak hours due to heavy traffic congestion.
