Overview
Konanakunte is a residential suburb of South Bangalore which has been recently added within the limits of the BBMP. It once known as the sleeping village on the citys outskirts known only for farming and underemployment is today a sprawling locality with people of various origins making it their home. It was primarily an agricultural area but is now being transformed into an urban zone. The area is bounded by Kanakapura Road and Amruth Nagar Main Road on either side. Neighborhoods such as Suprajanagara, Anjanadri Layout, Munireddy Layout, Udgir, Doddakallasandra, PNB Layout, Ayyappa Nagar, , Narayana Nagar 1st Block, Kailash Nagar, Eswara Layout, Harinagar 8th Phase are located close to it.
Connectivity
There are two main road passes through the locality Kanakapura Road and Amruth Road which further has access to Chunchgatta Main Road. Major bus stops in the locality are Narayana Nagar, Doddakallasandra, Gubbalala Cross, Thippasandra and Raghuvanahalli cross etc.
Konanakute has excellent connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport which is located at a driving distance of 46 km which can be covered in 1 h 40 m.
Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station, Bangalore East Railway Station, Banasawadi Railway Station and Hebbal Railway Station are close to this locality. However, Bangalore Cantonment is its nearby Railway Station.
Factors for future growth
Konanakunte has experienced a great deal of development in terms of population infrastructure and urbanization along with major IT Parks such as JP IT Park, Brigade Software Park, Harita IT Park, Rajajinagar IT Park and Software Technology Park resulted in the rapid improvement of the area and the development of a number of commercial and business activities.
Soon with the completion of the ambitious Namma Metro project Phase-2 with one of its route Puttenahalli Anjanapura (6.29), will become much more easily accessible and hence it is forecast that a further flow in the population of this area will occur.

There are several schools in the vicinity that offer quality education. Some of them are Ekya School Kanakpura Road, Bangalore Scottish School, RMS International School, Alpine Public School, Bangalore International Public School, Delhi Public School, Sri Chaitanya School etc.
Some of the renowned hospitals providing health care facilities to the residents of Konanakunte are Rajnandini Hospital, Supurva Hospital, Sri Sai Ram Hospital, Supra South City Hospital, Sagar Hospitals etc.
The Sport Mall, Royal Meenakshi Mall, Central Shopping Mall, Gopalan Innovation Mall, Gopalan Promenade Mall and Tibet Mall are the nearby mall serves the basic need of the residents of Konanakunte.
Major issues
In spite of the area attracting inhabitants and business, civic amenities are as low as it could be infrastructure like stable roads; drainage, streetlights, security and medical facilities are not in place
